Job Capacity Assessment

PPC is a contracted provider to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to deliver Job Capacity Assessments (JCA) as a key part of the Government’s Welfare to Work package.

The purpose of this service is to identify a person’s ability to work and any barriers they may face in finding and retaining a job. Assessors are qualified and experienced professionals with expertise on the evaluation of capacity for work, available employment and disability services, and the labour market.

JCA's are used to assist persons requiring the following:

Access to income support payments made by Centerlink
Identifying the type of employment or other assistance required in finding and maintaining a job
Referral to employment and related services to assist in preparing, finding and sustaining work

Persons attending a JCA will participate in a discussion to identify the barriers they face in finding and keeping a job. Discussion may also take place about referral options to employment and related services. In most cases, the assessment takes place at a PPC office.
